Terms of Service

Effective October 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and RedQuest Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"), for your use of aro: this website, the aro Desktop app and our cloud service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You must own a legitimate copy of Minecraft: Java Edition and follow its license terms.

2. The Service

aro adds an AI companion to a Minecraft world running on your own computer. The Service is in early access: features, supported versions, free play time and limits may change, and it may be interrupted or unavailable. We may modify or discontinue any part of it.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in email secure and tell us if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person.

4. Free play time and subscriptions

We may offer a one-time amount of free play time per account, available while it lasts. Paid plans renew monthly and are billed through Stripe until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Each period includes the play time shown for your plan, and unused time does not carry over. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. We will tell you before a price change applies to your plan.

5. AI companion and your worlds

Your companion is an artificial intelligence. Its messages and actions are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, unexpected or inappropriate; do not rely on them for any important decision. Your companion can act in your world, for example by moving, breaking and placing blocks, using items or interacting with creatures, including in Survival. Changes it makes cannot be undone, so back up your world before you invite it; the app reminds you before the first invitation. We are not responsible for changes to or loss of your worlds or game data.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to break the law or anyone's rights; harass, threaten or harm others; share content you do not have the right to share, including photos of other people without their consent; try to bypass usage limits, free play limits or payments; probe, overload or disrupt the Service; reverse engineer it except where the law allows; or use it where the owner of a world or server has not allowed it.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you send to your companion. You give us a license to store, process and transmit it, including through our service providers, only as needed to provide and improve the Service. If you send feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

8. Minecraft

Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law or to protect the Service or other people.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, WORLDS OR PROFITS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$50.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, let you know through the service or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
